When a child dies we overcome with emotions. Often we become so overcome with our emotions that our surviving children are neglected. Or perhaps they do not express their grief in ways that we recognize as grief. But surviving children are affected by loss. The information here has been developed to help you better understand the grieving child and to help them with their grieving process.
KIDSAID is a safe place for kids to share and to help each other deal with grief about any of their losses. It's a place to share and deal with feelings, to show artwork and stories, to talk about pets, to meet with one's peers.
Children do grieve differently than adults, and sometimes it's hard to know what's "normal". Do you know all the warning signs?
The Mourning Star Center provides loving support in a safe place where grieving children can share their experience as they move through their healing process. The Mourning Star Center extends supportive services to the family, caregivers, schools, and the community.
